The following guidelines and procedures will facilitate the transfer of funds into or out of your account(s).

Regular Deposits

  • Cheques for deposit to your account must be made payable to either yourself or to the custodian.
     
  • Please note: Your cheque must not be made payable to Barrantagh!
     
  • If possible, please write your account number on the cheque for reference purposes.
     
  • Please send your cheque to us and we will ensure that it is deposited into your account.

RRSP Contributions

For RRSP contributions, please indicate on your cheque the tax year for which your contribution is being made.

If you wish, you can make an RRSP contribution ‘in kind’ by written request.


Transfer Between Accounts

Please send us written instructions for all transfers of securities and/or cash between accounts.

Cash Withdrawals

Please send us written instructions for all cash withdrawals.

Your instructions should include:

  • the amount,
  • the account the withdrawal is to be made from,
  • the date you require the money, and
  • the method in which you want to receive the funds.

You can receive your funds in the ways listed below.

Cheque - issued and mailed the same day if your request is received by 12:00 noon.

Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) - funds are transferred directly to your bank account within 3-5 business days.

For EFT, please provide us with:

  • the name and address of your bank;
  • the transit number of the branch;
  • your account number; and
  • the name and address appearing on the account (i.e. John Smith, John and Mary Smith, etc.).

Wire Transfer – funds are transferred directly to your bank account usually same day if the request is received before 11:00 am.  There may be a charge by your bank/receiving financial institute for this service.

For wire transfer, please provide us with:

  • the name and address of your bank;
  • the transit number of your branch;
  • your account number; and
  • the name and address appearing on the account (i.e. John Smith, John and Mary Smith, etc.).
